Here's hoping for a better week..

Here's hoping this little man has a better week this week. He started running really high temperatures for about 4 days last week and then over the weekend came out in some sort of viral rash all over his body. He was off his food...( which is NOT normal for Nic) and just generally whingy and irritable. He seems pretty good this morning, ate his brekky, which is a good start.
A really wet and stormy day here today..

Dark Side..Bwaaahhhhhh..

( that was supposed to be my evil laugh...LOL)..

Lots of people have been asking me, have I gone over to the dark side of Digital scrapping and given my paper scrapping away???

The quick response to this at the moment is.....NO, not totally..
But at the moment, while the boys are young and my house is so little, it is really hard to get all my supplies out onto the kitchen bench every time i scrap. Then before i have even turned around, Nic has climbed onto the bench and started pulling things off. So it just seems like too much hard work to scrap with them around. Every time I walk away or finish I have to pack everything up, which just takes up heaps of time....
So, at the moment i really love scrapping and so i figure if i scrap digitally, i still get the thrill of scrapping and finishing a page that i can share with everyone..

Wet Weather..

It's Raining, It's Pouring...

What's better when you are a little kid, then dressing up in your raincoat and boots and going out the splash in the rain..That is exactly what Sam did this week. He just loved it!

Still here..

I am still here everyone. Lots going on in the Sparkes Household at the moment.. We have decided to put our house on the market. We were looking at getting renos done to what we already have but came to the decision that it is just way too expensive for not much, let alone the disruption to the boys for a year. So the time has come to move on.. I think that it is pretty exciting, but I am sure there is going to be a few sleepless nights. Will keep you all posted!!

Here are a few photos from lunch on Sunday. We celebrated Liz's birthday. Have lots more too show you but I have to go through them..

Picnic Lunch

Yesterday the boys and I, as well as Grandma and Aunty Clarie went for a picnic up to Mundaring Weir. It was great fun.. We just packed up a sandwich and a hot Thermos and went for a drive. it was good to get the boys out of the house and have a run around.

They loved running up and down the wall and looking out at the water. I must say, the weir is very dry at the moment and the level is so low.

There wasn't really a nice place to have some lunch at the Weir( ..there used to be, but it is looking pretty bad at the moment - a little disappointing..) So we went to Jacoby park, just in Mundaring.

I love this photo of Liz and Claire on the swing.. they look so Happy!!

I have been practising using my photo shop again and you will notice some of the photos have a different colour look to them. This was done by using one of the photoshop Actions ( lomo ) at the Coffee shop.
Hope you are all having a Good weekend.

Black and White Photos

I have been practising turning my photos to Black and white. It totally changes the photo and gives you another excuse to scrap the same photo!!
I still think they could be better, some seem a little to white(..??? if that make sense..)
and I have a lot more to learn. BUT - hey, I'll get there!
Thanks for all you great comments about my trip to Brisbane!

Had the best time...

Well after a very early morning I jet-setted my way over to Brisbane. I had a quick stop through Sydney airport and then met Gail in Brisbane at about 2.30pm on Thursday arvo. ( ..note I had been awake since 3am, that morning..) We got picked up on an airport transfer bus into the city, which was such a good idea because it only cost us $14 dollars and they delivered us straight to our hotel..

We decided to stay at a self contained apartment, which was such a good idea because it gave us a lot more room and we were able to do our own brekky and sometimes lunch. M on Mary apartments were situated between the botanical gardens at one end of the city and they main shopping streets of Queen street. So it was just perfect. We went walking most mornings in the Botanical gardens which was so pretty, right down on the river.

The other great thing about having our own apartment is that we were able to sit and do some scrap booking some of the nights.

Here are some of the layouts i did while i was away, they are pretty simple because i was restricted by taking all my stash...LOL

I did a few other layouts but need to finish them off a bit, so I will post them later in the week.

Friday saw us spend nearly 6 and a half hours shopping up a storm in the city.. Oh Boy, can this girl shop..

I got myself some really nice clothes and shoes and bags and well I could go on, but just in case Adam is reading this, i better stop there...ha ha ha!!
Lets just say, we had such a great time shopping most of the weekend..
Saturday was the day we decided to visit the Scrapbook expo..( don't know if that was the best day to go because it was the first day it opened and there were way to many people..) I bought a few little things, but didn't go to crazy. After a few hours we decided enough was enough and headed out of there..
I think what I enjoyed most about this day was a walk from the city over the footbridge and all the way down along the South bank to the Expo. What a gorgeous place to visit. The weather was superb, so that just made it look even more pretty.

I don't even want to think how far we walked that day..but i think it was the best because we got to see so much that i may not of seen of we hadn't.. but Geez our legs were sore that night...LOL

I took this photo of the little beach they have over at South Bank, my boys would of loved this.
I like this photo that Gail took of me.

We stopped at this great little place along the river for some lunch and a glass of wine.. It was the best!

They even had some Markets over on South bank which was great to walk through and look at on our way to the Expo.

I think this was probably the day i loved the best, because the whole day was just great!!
Sunday we took a Bus out to Chermside for some more shopping and then spent the arvo watching a movie ( Ghosts of Girlfriends past..) It was pretty good movie, gotta love a good chick flick!

Monday was another day of Pure Indulgence. We caught a bus out to Paddington, ( a great little place...) where Gail had organised a 2 1/2 hour pamper session. We had a body mud wrap and a facial and foot pamper and then an hour of a full body massage.. Oh My God.. It was absolute HEAVEN.....

I couldn't' think of a better way to finish off our holiday...

I had such a good time with Gail and I am going to miss this girl to bits.. She is such a great friend and I know we will be for a long time..

It was great to come home to the boys who missed me.. ( I hope...LOL)..
